Red is the colour

Milla Jovovich
I love the colour red in clothes and accessories, it's one of the few colours I wear.  Here's a random selection of red pictures.
They are a little bit Galliano/Dior biased, but John uses red more than any other designer I can think of.  Red can be elegant, glamorous, sexy and dramatic, but never boring.

Freja Beha for Moncler AW10

Photography by Steven Meisel

Here's the gorgeous Freja Beha Erichsen shot by Steven Meisel for Moncler's AW10 campaign.  I love this all cream look anytime of the year but especially for winter.

I wear a lot of cream.  The other day I dug out a pair of cream Joseph knitted leggings I've had for years but never worn.  They're almost identical to these.  I always knew if I kept them long

Thank you Giles xxx

Frida Gustavsson for Giles SS10
My poor old Mac G4 laptop is nearly eight years old.  It's like a dear old lady and could slip off at any minute.  I would be lost without it.  I desperately need a new one but can't afford it at the moment.  For the last couple of days every time I try and do something I get what my friend Jo-Ann Furniss calls "the spinning wheel of death." So annoying!

Sunday music - The brilliant Adele

I went to see Adele at a small private gig before she was signed and her beautiful voice and pure natural talent blew me away.  She has a voice that gives you goose bumps and is one of the few singers who sounds exactly the same, or even better live.  You can't beat that raw energy.

I love her version of Bob Dylan's Make You Feel My Love.  It's such a beautiful song.  A lady did it on X

Saturday night music - The fabulous Grace Jones

I love this!!

This is a tune Mrs Jones introduced me to as I hadn't really listened to much of Grace Jones' newest album.  We were jumping around my sitting room blasting this out.  I love this remix by Aeroplane, it's  amazing!

Bear with it, as it gets going Grace starts rocking out.  Listen to the end and play loud!I absolutely love it.  What do you think?

Corinne Day RIP

Corinne Day(1965-2010)
I was very sad to hear that renowned photographer Corinne Day died early this morning.  Corinne was struck down with a brain tumour thirteen years ago.  After undergoing extensive treatment it seemed the operations were successful, but sadly the condition returned two years ago
Corinne's revolutionary photographs of fourteen year-old Kate Moss catapulted Kate to stardom.

Ruth used a picture of Joanna Lumley as Patsy in Ab Fab for this post, so I shall do the same.  Here's a picture of the delightful Ms Lumley modeling in the Sixties

Sun and sea views

The weather has been so awful in London I've barely been out all week.  On the plus side I have finally tackled my washing mountain.  The tumble drier's been going non-stop and the house looks like a Chinese laundry.  I'm now becoming aware of the reality of how many clothes I actually own and it is verging on the ridiculous.  I shall be having a wardrobe sort out next week.  I must do a blog

Where has our summer gone?  It has poured with rain non-stop all day today in London and pretty much for the last two.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we have an Indian summer in September.  I live in hope.

The benefits of Honegar

After all my posts this weekend about drinking I'm having a slightly healthy period (with the exception of chocolate of course!).  How long this actually lasts is anyone's guess.  Normally it's not for long.
I'm guilty of buying a ton of fruit and veg when I go to the shops, most of which ends up on my neighbours compost heap.  I do try and juice as much as possible but I let that slip too.

The world of Stardoll

George Jones loves this website called Stardoll.   This is the doll he's of me! Bless him, he's been flattering!
I have to admit I'd never heard of Stardoll.  It's another online virtual world, like a fashion/dressing up version of Second Life for ages 7-17.  Some of my friends used to go on Second Life.  They have houses, jobs, friends, they buy land... I found it quite bonkers.  Personally I

Good for nothing...but another great weekend

We left the restaurant about midnight on Friday night and stopped off the all night off licence up the road.  As it was The Actor's Birthday I let him choose what we drank so JD and Coke it was.  Vodka is normally my drink of choice but as I'd had the brandy I was up for anything.  I normally bang on about Coca Cola being toxic when I'm sober.  Anyone remember at school when the put a pork
